About our Club
There will be a very warm, friendly and supportive welcome offered to women who are interested in joining a lively and vibrant group.
This year’s President is Isobel Groves, a former Social Services Manager operating in the Children’s Services in Child Protection, Fostering and Adoption. The club includes members from the law, education, health and business backgrounds.
This year the club is focussing on Ending Violence against Women and Children, with speaker meetings and events booked to highlight the problems and what can be done to help.
As well as having a particular concern for local problems, the club is committed to help clean water projects in Africa, having established a friendship link with SI Bamenda in the Cameroons. The President’s Charities are
- Relate
- Water Aid
- Water project for Bamenda Health Centre.
SI Blackburn was proud to receive the Regional Programme Action Shield for our work in June 2009. Come and find out more! We meet on the first and third Mondays of the month at Wilpshire Golf Club, starting at 7.30pm. Contact Sally on 07754 273306.
