Our President’s message

President Janet

I became a Soroptimist in 1994 as a member of Saffron Walden club and transferred to Cambridge in1997, becoming President for the first time in1999, then Secretary for six years, and now am pleased to have been given another chance to take on the President’s role

During my time as a member I have learned much about this organisation and that, important though the life and work of each club is, it is the combined effort of us all in Regions, Federations and worldwide that can make a difference. Service, friendship and fun are watchwords for Soroptimists, ask one and she will tell you how much she values the friendship and the support she has found as a member.

At Cambridge we are working hard do what we can in the way of service, and to support financially our chosen causes. Locally we are currently fundraising for the Parkinson’s Disease Society and the Cambridge Rape Crisis Centre. At Regional level we contribute to our project supporting schools in Malawi and on the International level join Soroptimist clubs world wide in helping to fund Project Sierra. May we be successful in our work for these causes and it is my hope that all our members enjoy playing their part,

If you would like to meet us, join us or just find out more please make contact and come along to a meeting.
