Once again the Colchester and District Club marked International Women’s Day with breakfast. Held on 6^th March 2010 14 ladies congregated in Wivenhoe, nr Colchester, to feast on scrambled eggs, smoked salmon, Irish soda bread, croissants and apricot jam. Breakfast was prepared by member Dilly Meyer’s partner Tom who also baked the soda bread. Tom was assisted by chef, John whose partner Carol kindly hosted the event. This year the Club raised funds for the Colchester Women’s Refuge and are delighted to be handing over £175.

In addition to this the Club received a large collection of mini soaps and shampoos following the closure of Wivenhoe House Hotel at the University of Essex, where Dilly works. These will also be presented to the Refuges in Colchester.
