Soroptimists learn about local diversity

The members welcomed Emma McLaughlin, Coleraine’s Biodiversity Officer. She outlined the action plan from Coleraine Borough Council in partnership with the Ulster Wildlife rust.
The plans aims to celebrate the rich varity of wildlife and habitats in the area, raise awareness of their importance and encourage local people to get involved in protecting them for the future.
Emma illustrated her talk with several beautiful slides of our region and distributed attractive copies of the official plan.
Members showed great interest and Emma was given a token of appreciation by Joan Jones on behalf of everyone present, The environment is one of the main programme areas.
