Soroptimists Support Hospice Challenge

Once again, Crosby’s Soroptimists turned out in force to help at the annual Jospice Challenge Walk. In cold, wet and blustery conditions club members staffed the registration desks on Crosby Promenade, as participants (and their dogs) arrived. The walkers then set off along the route, which extends from the Coastguard Station to the Leisure Centre (and back again). Meanwhile the Soroptimists wrote out certificates, then handed them out to the walkers on their return - proof to the many hundreds of sponsors that the Challenge had been successfully met.

Pat Williams, President of SI Crosby said, “The Challenge raises much-needed funds for the hospice, so practical assistance from volunteers is vital to ensure that all arrangements run smoothly. SI Crosby has supported Jospice for many years and, as our member Pat Murphy is the hospice’s Fundraising Manager, we have that extra incentive to rally round. I am therefore delighted that, once again - and despite the bad weather - we were able to help.”
