On his return to the UK, he was invited to join the Eldorado Operatic Society in Lewisham, where he not only took many leading roles but also participated in the management of the society, serving eight years as chairman. He remained with this society until the early 90s when he moved to the Sidcup Operatic Society, initially as a guest (and where he met Patricia – but that’s another story…)  Laurie was presented with a National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA) medal in 2000 after over 35 qualifying years on the amateur stage. He hopes you will find he has not forgotten how to entertain!
