Quadrennial Project 2007-2011

Every four years Soroptimist International (SI) adopts a special four-year project with an NGO partner ‘in the field’ that focuses on an issue from our SI goals related to a human rights concern. These projects are supported by all members across the world including CROYDON CLUB. Recent projects have included:

1992-2003 Limbs for Life, aimed at rehabilitating land mine victims in three countries in partnership with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and

2003-2007 Project Independence, Women Survivors of War. In partnership with Women for Women International, the project’s aim was to support women to be self-sufficient and active citizens.

In partnership with Hope and Homes for Children (a UK based charity), Project SIerra (2007-2011) will look to strengthen broken communities and homes in Sierra Leone and to educate womend and children.
