Projects Region

CROYDON CLUB is one of the 15 SI Clubs which form the South East England Region. For more information visit the SEE Region website on www.soroptimist-gbi-see.org.uk

RAIL PROJECT
Members from several region clubs, including CROYDON CLUB, formed the working party which looked into various aspects of rail travel including: coach and child safety, station safety, standard of signage and the problems of track litter. The working party’s recommendations were contained in the report “Safe and Sure – a ‘quick wins’ agenda for British railways”, published in October 2002. Further studies have been carried out since that date and discussions are on going with senior rail management.

OBESITY IN CHILDREN
In 2003 CROYDON CLUB initiated this study. It was adopted as a region project and the findings were published in a report issued in June 2004.

TEENAGE MAGAZINES
The latest region project, began in 2006 by Tunbridge Wells Club, is a study into magazines aimed at teenage girls and is being supported by CROYDON CLUB.
