Handover of chain of office at AGM

Mrs Alison Jenkins hands over the chain of office to our new president Mrs Pat Hanns. Our new club President was inducted at our Annual General Meeting on 22 April 2008. Mrs Pat Hanns, a retired nurse from Hillhead, is pictured receiving the president’s regalia from Mrs Alison Jenkins, immediate past president. President Pat outlined some of her plans for the year ahead. She said the main charity to benefit from funds raised during her year of office would be Hampshire Air Ambulance. “They’ll be a fitting beneficiary in these days of reduced local services and centralised larger hospitals. With our busy roads an air ambulance can save vital time in getting a patient to hospital that could mean the difference between life and death.”

Other officers elected at the meeting were: Miss Pam Grosvenor, President Elect; Mrs Sharon Philip, Vice President; Mrs Rosemary Coward, Secretary; Miss Ann Pibworth, Treasurer; Programme Action representative, Mrs Christine White; and regional representatives, Mrs Rosemary Bell and Mrs Stella Astbury. Mrs Astbury was also elected on to the executive committee along with Mrs Janet Luff.
