Inter-club challenge cup
Fun and friendship are important aspects of being a Soroptimist – while working on projects to help the less fortunate in society locally and globally, we also like to enjoy ourselves. One of the occasions we can do that is at the annual inter-club skittles competition, when we battle it out against Soroptimists from Chichester, Southampton and Winchester.
The clubs take it in turns to host the event and this year it was Gosport and Fareham’s go, so we all descended on the King’s Head at Wickham for an evening of friendly competition and the chance to renew old friendships.
Winning the challenge cup is becoming a habit for the Winchester club – they were worthy winners for the third year in succession. In second place was Gosport and Fareham 2/3, Southampton and Chichester tied for third place and Fareham team 1 trailed in last.

Glenn and Jo Gilbertson of Winchester shared the prize for the highest score across the three rounds. The wooden spoon for the lowest score (including the only zero for one round!) was ‘won’ by Doreen Davies of Southampton.
