Model for Trevor Sorbie
Tracy had the unusual pleasure of acting as a model for award-winning hairdresser Trevor Sorbie at the regional meeting on 13th June. He was demonstrating what could be done to make a wig look more natural, for those suffering hair loss for medical reasons (e.g. chemotherapy for cancer treatment). The organisation he has set up, called My New Hair, aims to train a network of hairdressers to cope with the specific challenges of styling a wig for someone at a particularly fragile time of their life.

Everyone was amazed at the transformation, but would not have known it was a wig if they hadn’t known Tracy beforehand.
My New Hair is a non-profit organisation, and hopes to gain charity status soon. Hilary Blackburn provided more background to what they are doing to promote their services in the NHS and get the message to the women that need them. There were emotional stories about particular cases that Trevor had helped, and a wealth of information to take away. The region gave a donation to support their work.
