Collection at Guildford Cathedral
On Saturday 15 November, the Guildford Choral Society (”GCS”) invited the Soroptimists of Guildford and District to hold a retiring collection in aid of President Carole’s chosen charity, the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, at Guildford Cathedral. Having enjoyed a superb rendition of Belshazzar’s Feast, over a thousand music lovers were generous in their support and we were delighted to raise in excess of £1800 towards the work of the Hospice.
The photograph shows President Carole on the right with Soroptimist member Elizabeth, in front of the small display we had on the evening to inform concert go-ers about Soroptimism generally and in particular Soroptimism in Guildford.
