Welcome to a new Presidential Year

This year our focus will be on education. Most club members are parents, grand parents, aunts, governors, etc. so there is considerable relevance. The current obsession with league tables, exam results and national curriculum over load makes us in danger of forgetting what education should be about.

As Soroptimists we are committed to a world where women and girls together achieve their individual and collective potential. This is something that is every child’s right not just in the developing world but also here in the UK.

Over the next twelve months we shall be looking into various aspects of education and child welfare. All our speakers are inspirational professionals at the top of their particular spheres and details of our programme are set out below.

If you are interested to know more about Soroptimism or education or both and would like to attend any of the meetings please leave your details on the ‘Contact Us’ page of the website.

I look forward to welcoming you.

President Joan Gregory
