President’s message
Welcome to SI Lewisham and South East London Club.
Soroptimist International is a non-religious, apolitical dynamic women’s service organisation. Our members work tirelessly to serve our local, regional and international communities.
I am relatively new to Soroptimism as I have only been a member since 2007 but I enjoy being with other dynamic women from all social backgrounds and ages, as well as making a difference to my community. I am also fortunate enough to sit on the SI London Regional Executive Committee as Membership Officer. Our region is called London Chilterns.
As President of local club Lewisham and South East London I am delighted to announce that the local charity we will be supporting this year is Flipside (aka Lambeth Crime Prevention Trust) of which I am a Trustee. Flipside work with young people in South London age 8-25 providing a range of activities to develop self-esteem, confidence, personal safety and reducing harm from weapons/weapon carrying.
Our international charity this year is Project SIerra: A Family and A Future, which is a joint project between Soroptimist International and Hope and Homes for Children in Sierra Leone, to help disadvantaged women and children in Sierra Leone face their futures with confidence.
