Programme Action in London Anglia Region

In LAR, President Margaret and Programme Action Officer Margaret are putting Programme Action at the heart of Soroptimism in London Anglia Region.

The whole region supports an area in Malawi, having provided funds to help build and equip two schools. We are currently raising funds for toilet blocks. Our immediate Past President visits Malawi regularly and reports back on progress.

Our support for the Violence Against Women - Stop it NOW! campaign continues and is a major project in the region, one where collaboration between clubs is developing really well - look at our VAW-SIN! page for more information.

As well as our work for Violence Against Women - Stop it NOW!, our Malawi schools project and Project SIerra, PAO Margaret is delighted with the clubs’ recent updates concerning all their other work - often based more locally. It seems as though the old adage ‘ask a busy person’ certainly applies to Soroptimists, most of whom have busy working lives as well as having families and friends to look after.
