Walking for Project Sierra

Soroptimists walk for “A Family and a Future” in Sierra Leone – Hyde Park – Saturday 27th September

Soroptimists from all around the London area, walked around the Serpentine in London on Saturday 27 September 2008 from the Lancaster Gate entrance to Hyde Park. The friendship walk raised £1000 for Project SIerra - “A Family and a Future”, which is the Soroptimist International Quadrennial Project for 2007-11: a partnership with Hope and Homes for Children in Sierra Leone. The project aims to raise over £1 million to transform the lives of some of the most deprived women and children in the world. Members from SI London Mayfair - Julie Blackwell, Elisa Gazzi, Melanie Leivers, Eileen Shaw,  and Morag Insley (a former member of SI London Mayfair) took part and  helped to raise public awareness of this project.
