About our Club

Soroptimist International of Newport was founded in 1963 and has been active in the community since that time. Recent activities have included holding an event to mark International Day of Peace, supporting the local Womens Aid, sending gifts to troops in Afghanistan and Iraq, lobbying for the ban of Cluster Munitions, helping with the work of the Newport Kutaisi Twinning Association, and raising awareness of local and international issues as well as raising monies for our Soroptimist Projects - Project Sierra and Licking Lassa Fever, but also for our Presidents charity 

Our members work in Banking, Administration, Legal Profession, Personnel Management, Security Management, Pharmaceutical Profession, Education, Civil Service, Local Government, Social Services and Charities & Voluntary Groups

The Club has Friendship links with Soroptimist clubs in Kutaisi, Kolkatta and Stratford on Avon 

Soroptimist International of Newport meets on the third Monday of each month. We also hold additional social activities as well as events to progress our project. Meetings are held at the Hilton Hotel, Newport, which is just off the Coldra Island, Junction 24 of the M4 motorway unless otherwise stated.

Guests are very welcome to attend speaker meetings and social events.
