Wales South Region
Newport is one of the twenty clubs in the Wales South Region of Soroptimist International. Regional meetings are held four times a year with an AGM in June and change of officers at the Federation conference in October each year.
We have two members of the Club on the Regional Executive. They are Ann Hodgson as Federation Councillor for the Wales South Region and Pat Rodway as the 63 Bayswater Road representative.
Newport Club is also supporting the Regional project “Licking Lassa Fever” licking-lassa-fever.org.uk . One of our members has taken part in a sponsored paraglide and the Club has also organised a charity event with food and music to raise funds for LLF. Lastly, like most clubs in the Region, we are collecting old and unwanted jewellry which is then recycled and the monies raised goes to our LLF project.
