About our Club
Soroptimist International of Norwich was chartered on 10th October 1952. We have 28 members and meet twice a month at 47 St Giles Street, Norwich. The first Monday in the month is a speaker meeting starting at 7.30pm and on the third Monday we hold our business meeting which begins at 7.00pm.
Recent Projects:
Overseas:
Wulugu Project in Northern Ghana, Khomas Trust in Namibia (which was set up by oner of our former members) and Water Aid in Ethiopia.
At Home:
McMillan Cancer Care, “We care 2000″, Salvation Army, St Martin’s Housing Trust, Magdalen Group, Rethink, East Anglia Air Ambulance, Priscilla Bacon Lodge and Thalia.
We are currently fund raising for EACH, East Anglia Children’s Hospices.
We also have representation on the Voices Against Violence Forum and local Primary Health Trusts.
Social
We enjoy a variety of social events (most of them involve food), often meeting at member’s homes. In addition there are walks - fundraising and social, a plant sale, and theatre trips.

SI Hana-Karkur, Israel, from which a member visited our club last year.
SI Vandalia, Illinois, USA. One of our members visited last year and was most graciously entertained.
SI Glasgow West, members from both clubs exchange visits.
SI Ilkley, many long lasting friendships have been made between members of both clubs.
SI Cuxhaven, Germany. This is our newest friendship link formalised only last year. One or two members have already met and we hope to visit next year to help celebrate their 20th Anniversary.
