Preston Child Contact Centre
The Club worked in partnership with Central Methodist Church, Preston to set up the Contact Centre in 2001 (www.prestonchild.org.uk)
A Contact Centre is a safe, comfortable, friendly place where children can enjoy the company of adults they are separated from.
Club members play an active role in the running of the Centre providing the Co-ordinator and the volunteer team.
Preston Women’s Refuge/Hope Centre
Support for the Women’s Refuge has been given over many years - both financial and by providing required items.
Homeless Night Shelter
Christmas boxes are donated to the Night Shelter each year.
Water for Kids
WfK is a small charity that provides clean water, sanitation and health education for children and communities in developing countries.
In 2007 the Club fund-raised to help with the provision of a girls toilet block at a school in a village in Zambia.
Guild Shield
Once every 20 years Preston Guild is celebrated. In 1992 when Marion Fogarty, a Club member, was President, she presented a Shield to be awarded each year until the next Guild, to a primary school in the Preston area which provided the best environmental project.
