SI Falkirk on the map!

The Falkirk Wheel is a rotating boat lift;awe-inspiring, beautiful and the largest piece of functional sculpture you will see, which connects the Forth & Clyde canal with the Union Canal.  To celebrate this rejuvenation, SI of Falkirk managed a project with the Waterways Trust Scotland and the Forth Valley Scouts and planted a hedge of mixed Scottish native trees along the line of the new canal link.  The SI of Falkirk Millennium Hedge has now been signposted thus raising our profile locally, nationally & internationally, with visitors from all over the world coming to see the Falkirk Wheel!”

Photograph shows President Margaret & members of SI of Falkirk, Provost Pat Reid, Senior Scout Jamie Sime & a member of the British Waterways Trust - who ensured our safety on a very wet & windy day beside the canals!

    Well done Falkirk !

Good to see lots of native species being used for woodland and hedges.
