‘What is in the boxes!’                

 ’Now we can see!’ The children have their new jotters.

Lochview primary school outside Bulawayo, Zimbabwe recently received supplies of jotters, pencils and pens from SI Dunfermline - via our Friendship Link with SI Johannesburg and their links with Clubs in Zimbabwe.

The project developed from a talk by Thabitha Khumalo, a Zimbabwe MP, at the Scottish Women’s Convention meeting at the Scottish Parliament in March 2009. This project was made possible by the co-operation of 3 Soroptimist Clubs, all currently part of SI Great Britain & Ireland Federation:

SI Dunfermline

SI Johannesburg

SI Bulawayo.

Special mention must be made of SI members Mary in Dunfermline, Leyden in Johannesburg and Mwiati in Bulawayo who have kept the lines of communication going.
