Social and Fundraising:
Fundraising events include the Annual Coffee Morning, held in October and the Quiz Night, usually held in February or March. Other fundraising events, held in the past few years have included a sponsored parachute jump by one intrepid club member, Ladies Day, and a Charity Lunch. Events, held at the homes of members have included a Fun Day, Candlelite parties, and a Spring Tea. One member, Anne Rutherford, completed a 58-mile long sponsored cycle ride in April 2009 to raise funds for Project Sierra, the current SI Quadrennial project.
Regular Social Events are the Annual Christmas lunch and a Summer Outing, as well as an International Evening, held in January, which students from overseas are invited to attend.
The retired members of the club and former members, who are unable to attend evening meetings meet once a month, for morning coffee.
Each year, the President usually selects a charity to be the main beneficiary of the club’s fundraising efforts. Club members then choose several smaller charities to support. Charities which are supported may be local, national, or international.
The main project for 2009 - 2011 is working to support and help the Inclusiveness Team, who work with students at Elmwood College. Cupar with special educational needs.
