Region AGM Hestercombe Gardens June 27th 09
Six members of the club attended the Annual General Meeting of the South West and Channel Islands Region. Over 90 delegates from 18 clubs were present. Club member Wendy Plaice as President Elect of the Region presented the summary of the Club reports which highlights the activities of the Clubs during the year April 08/April 09. Clubs raised £5,8881.00 for Project Sierra and for their President’s Charities over £37,000, The Regional Officers were duly elected, they will take up their positions at the end of October. (Region and Federation years run from Conference to Conference). Following the AGM there were three speakers, Gina Coad from SIGBI Federation Office, after working for Manchester Police Authority she had looked for a change of employment and had never regretted taking up her position at Federation Office and being involved with and all the positive things the organisation does for women. Tim Watkins of Hinckley Point and Federation President Elect Jackie Mosedale of SI Yeovil were the other speakers. The Good Practice Awards for Programme Action were presented and SI St Austell was pround to receive a certificate for second place,
