Club Programe Action
Beach clean 2009 On Sunday 20th October, club members again took part in the Marine Conservation beach clean and survey, this time we cleaned both sides of the beach at Charlestown Harbour

The club was delighted to receive an award for its Programme Action work at the Region AGM in June. It was appropriate that Daphne Johns be presented with the award at the July business meeting , since she had been chair of the committee for the year 08/09 and had been responsible for organising the work and submitting the programme focus report forms on which the clubs were judged. The Programme Action work (service) included fundraising for ShelterBox, Project Sierra, UNICEF, WaterAid, Precious Lives and the Hospice, events such as the annual beach clean and survey and lobbying against Post office Closure, the erection of an incinerator at St Dennis, human trafficking and violence against women. The club actively supports our local Women’s Refuge.
