Lennie Harford - President 2009-2010
At the recent AGM of Soroptimist International Stourbridge Club Lennie Harford took over from Ruth Longville as President for the coming year. This is the second time Lennie has been President of the Club. The first time being between 1998-99. On that occasion Lennie’s theme was “Wonderful Women,” depicting the struggles and achievements of the last century. Throughout her year the club enjoyed a range of speakers from Debra Shipley to the Reverend Jill Waters. Her social calendar was equally as varied including a Jazz evening at the Crystal Centre and a Strawberry Tea event.
The Theme Lennie has chosen for her Presidential year this time round is “Other Lives” and the charities the club will support are Project SIerra, The Medical Foundation for Victims of Torture, Oxfam and the Regional Charity Fresh Start. Lennie says “Last time the year went too quickly. Just as I felt I was getting going, it ended. I hope to enjoy it from the start this time”.
