Dear All

Fundraising for LLF will end at our AGM in June…so we have barely 4 months in which to reach our target of £75k. So far we have done brilliantly and our funds stand at £71k….only £4k (plus if possible) to go. Can I crave your support for 3 ideas, please?

  1. Red Cross has supplied us with a ‘rich list’ for S Wales and I have divided it up according to club areas…hopefully correct. We need to approach these people but requests from someone known to them would be most successful. We have a letter and 2-page explanation for use (attached). Phone calls or face-to face approaches are best, with the info supplied if they agree to consider our request. Otherwise e-mail or post will need to be used….but this is much less successful. Would your club be willing to take a look at the list I think is relevant for you and advise me of those you feel able to approach? For the remainder, I will send a request. This fits well with our awareness, advocacy, and action mantra.
  2. We need to publicise our schools pack - see http://licking-lassa-fever.org.uk/schools-pack/. I have A6 flyers which could be given to schools in your area and teachers you know. I will have them with me at the next regional meeting. This is about awareness-raising but schools could collect recyclables for us, perhaps.
  3. We have been offered a fashion show by TM Lewin in Cardiff and hope to set this up in May…let me know if this is of interest to you, please. See their web site at http://www.tmlewin.co.uk/.
